Why Mourinho should go to PSG

There has been a lot of speculation about where Jose Mourinho will end up after enduring a torrid season with Real Madrid. Here are some of the reasons why Mourinho will end up at Paris Saint-Germain next season rather than the other touted destinations for the Special One.

The Talent at PSG

Mourinho loved working with players like the mercurial Ibrahimovic and the steady Thiago Motta, whom he managed at Inter. Ibra and Motta were important players in the Serie-A (2009) ad Champions League (year of the treble) winning Mourinho squads respectively. Along with them, PSG gives Mourinho the chance to work with top players like Pastore, Thiago Silva and Lavezzi.

Rich Owners

Mourinho will have the luxury to buy his own players courtesy the deep pockets of the Qatari Owners (QIA). PSG splashed around 110m Euros in 2011-2012 and this trend would surely help in attracting Mourinho to the Parc des Princes.

New challenge and a new country

PSG provides a fresh challenge to Mourinho after Real Madrid. He left Inter Milan for Real Madrid with the aim of defeating Barcelona in the league they were dominating. He has been successful in doing that even though the Uefa Champions League crown has eluded him as yet. A move to PSG would give him a chance to win more silverware in a new country and a new league and would fit his pattern of moving to a different league after winning silverware in his current league.

A move to PSG would help him move away from constant scrutiny of the Spanish media to the much less rigid media in France. But then again, controversy follows wherever the special one lands up. But this move will relieve him from the constant criticism he has to face from the Real Madrid Supporters and the players.

Waiting for United Opportunity

It is common knowledge that Mourinho one day wants to manage United and he has kept no secret of that wish. Sir Alex is going strong as yet but a hunt for a successor is already underway by the United Board and Mourinho has had a very public support from Sir Alex himself. Manchester United and Mourinho seem to be a perfect fit because, if there is someone with the ego and the tenacity to replace Sir Alex Ferguson, it’s Mourinho. United gives Mourinho a chance to work in England again, which by his own admittance he will do one day, and to manage one of the greatest clubs in the world. Till then what perfect way to bide time than to manage PSG, conquering another country and waiting for Sir Alex to hang up his boots which could be sooner rather than later.

SAF is a long time admirer of Mourinho

It’s time Mourinho moves on from the shambles at Real Madrid that has allegedly seen him lost the control of the dressing room, to France where he can hope to equal the record of Bob Paisley of winning the Champions League thrice in case he is unable to win it this time around, and set other records and wins which usually follow wherever the Special One ends up managing.
