The 26-year old will be participating in the African Cup of Nations and is currently on international duty. According to reports, there is still some paperwork left to be submitted to the FA, but the deal has been confirmed.
However, the Ivory Coast Football Federation confirmed: "Bony has signed with Manchester City this Wednesday, 14 January."
Bony has been in top form for the past two seasons, having become the top Premier League scorer of 2014 with £20 goals. He has scored nine goals this season.
The deal encompasses £25 million cash up front and £3 million plus in performance-related add-ons. Bony joined Swansea from Vitesse Arnhem for £12 million.
