Hollywood actor and comedian Will Ferrell couldn’t resist from mocking Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho during his award acceptance speech in the GQ Men of the Year 2015 awards.
Ferrell, who won Comedian of the Year accolade at the ceremony, took a sly dig at the Portuguese manager’s tactics who was among the attendance with his eldest daughter Matilde. The Blues manager has had a relatively difficult start to the season and his team has been criticised for their slump in such early stages of the new campaign gathering only 4 points from their first 4 fixtures.
And that hasn’t gone unnoticed in the world of Holywood as Ferrell, who starred in Get Hard earlier this year, was seemingly delighted to see Mourinho at the event and took a few seconds to poke fun at the Chelsea coach for a defensive approach to his side’s matches.
“Jose Mourinho! Jose Mourinho,“ said Ferrell in a typical Portuguese accent. “Keep playing defence, man. Keeping playing [it]. Seven guys in the box, I love it. I love it.”
Mourinho is known for his defensive approach to the game but winning by any means is what matters for the former Real Madrid manager. Since returning to the Stamford Bridge in the 2013/14 season, the 52-year-old guided the West London outfit to the Premier League title in his second season.
But the Premier League champions have had a woeful start this campaign and they travel to Everton this Saturday to get their season up and running on the right track.
