Liverpool capitalized on Manchester City's dropped points on Saturday (September 28) to take the summit of the Premier League table thanks to a Mohamed Salah penalty. The Egyptian converted from the spot to help Arne Slot's side beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-1 at the Molineux and reach atop the standings.
The visitors opened the scoring in the first half through Ibrahima Konate in stoppage time after he connected with a Diogo Jota cross. Wolves hit back in the second half through Rayan Ait-Nouri in the 56th minute. However, Jota completed his torment of his former employers by winning a spot-kick for Mohamed Salah to convert in the 61st minute.
Liverpool moved to the top of the table after Manchester City drew 1-1 against Manchester City at St. James' Park earlier on the day.
