#1 Kylian Mbappe
Mbappe started the tournament as the central striker. Ousmane Dembele's poor form allowed Olivier Giroud to get the nod from Deshamps. Ultimately, Mbappe was pushed to the wings which has proven to have devastating effects. He is undoubtedly France's fastest player and this was greatly seen when he ran into the heart of the Argentine defence to force Marcos Rojo to concede a penalty.
The 19-year-old is also the most dangerous player in the French squad. He combines speed, skill and precision in front of goal. Given the high fatigue level expected of the Croatian defenders, Mbappe is surely going to have a field day on Sunday. In a match of fine margins, Mbappe could be the key to unlocking the stubborn Croatian resolve. He has scored three goals already in the competition and his five out of his six shots have been on target.
The French have a wild card on their hands and it is just a matter of exploiting those gaps that Croatia leave and a major trophy will not elude them as it did two years ago on home soil. France remains the favourite to go all the way on Sunday as the curtains come down in Russia.
