Hirving Lozano celebrates the winner against Germany

Midfield

Defensive Midfielder: Hector Herrera (Mexico)

FBL-WC-2018-MATCH11-GER-MEX
Herrera managed to cover over 10km of ground against Germany.

Héctor Herrera completely dominated the 'world-class' midfielders opposite him, with and without the ball. In fact, he was absolutely brilliant and was the key whenever Mexico switched to attack as quickly as they did.

In this match, he made 6 successful dribbles with 7 tackles. He was dispossessed only once and also he got a yellow card. Notably, he managed to cover over 10km in the game. Quite a shift, indeed.

Central Midfielder: Sergej Milinković-Savić (Serbia)

Costa Rica v Serbia: Group E - 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia
Amazing to think that Milinković-Savić wasn't even capped nine months ago

Sergej Milinkovic Savić played an extraordinary game against Costa Rica. He had been left out for tactical reasons by previous manager Muslin but he is now an integral part of the side under Mladen Krstajić. He worked really hard off the ball to be available.

With technical dexterity combined with a physical profile that is quite often unplayable, the Serbian won 4 aerial duels in this match and also he made 4 successful dribbles.

Central Midfielder: Philippe Coutinho (Brazil)

Brazil v Switzerland: Group E - 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia
Coutinho with an absolutely fine strike

Philippe Coutinho scored a beautiful curler to put Brazil up 1-0 against Switzerland. These shots are his trademark. Beside this goal, Coutinho took 3 more shots.

In all fairness, and even besides the goal, probably Brazil's best player throughout the 90 minutes. Coutinho's performance was a bright point in a game to forget.
