#3 Diego Costa: A bull in search of rejuvenation
The Atletico Madrid forward was born in Brazil and represented his native country on two occasions as well. However, he later switched nationalities and started playing for Spain. So far, he has made 19 appearances for Spain and scored seven goals for them.
Costa's career has been nothing less than a roller-coaster ride. He rose to prominence with some wonderful performances for Atletico Madrid in 2013-2014. Chelsea purchased Costa for a sum of £32 million in 2014 and he became Chelsea's main striker over the next two and half seasons.
However, he had a fallout with manager Antonio Conte in January 2017 and had to spend half a season from the sidelines. He returned to his former club Atletico Madrid in January 2018 and since then has struggled for goals.
Costa's capability to hold the ball, score decisive goals and fool opposition defenders makes him a proper defensive forward. The World Cup is the best platform for him to rejuvenate his career and return back to his previous form.
In the absence of Alvaro Morata, Costa will have to compete with Rodrigo and Iago Aspas for the centre-forward position.
So don't be surprised if Diego slams a few goals past opposition keepers, this time out.
