#3 Mohamed Salah

It took Egypt 28 years to reach the World Cup. The last time they qualified for the World Cup was in 1990 and I wasn’t even born. A lot of things have changed in the last 28 years, a list of which alone would suffice for a slideshow like this.
The dream was made a reality when Mohamed Salah scored from the spot in the 90th minute against Congo to lift Egypt into the WC 2018. Salah is all their hopes and dreams now – and given how good a season he had with Liverpool, it is only fair for the expectations to be on his shoulders.
He ended the season with 44 goals in all competitions this season – equal to Cristiano Ronaldo’s tally and just one less than Lionel Messi – and goes to the World Cup with vehement scoring form.
Not much is being expected from Egypt but with Salah in the team, they can spring a surprise or two.
