#5 1998: Youri Djorkaeff
Former French attacking midfielder, Youri Djorkaeff spent three years at Inter Milan from 96-99 and it was during this time that he blossomed into the form of his life earning him a call-up for the World Cup squad.
Ranked 25th before the start of the 98 home tournament, the French national team surprised and shocked the footballing world by going on to win the competition. Djorkaeff was a key member of Aime Jacquet's winning team that outplayed Brazil in the final.
The industrious attacking player enjoyed a fruitful career with spells in England, Italy, Germany and won 82 caps for his national side.
