The FIFA World Cup is one of the most prestigious tournaments in football history. It is the most important international tournament and takes place once every 4 years. Players from all around the world long to get their hands on this trophy as it stands out as a mark of excellence in a footballer’s career.
The first World Cup took place in 1930 and was hosted by Uruguay. Since then, the only time more than one country hosted a World Cup was in 2002, when Japan and South Korea joined hands to hold the 2002 FIFA World Cup. Now the 2026 World Cup is set to be hosted by Canada, Mexico, and the United States together, making it the first time that 3 countries will join hands to host a FIFA World Cup.
World Cup 2026 Venue
The World Cup 2026 venue is Canada, Mexico, and United States. The United 2026, i.e., North American 2026 Bid was a combination of the Canadian, Mexican, and the United States federations to make a combined bid to host the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The bidding process for the 2026 FIFA World Cup restarted on May 10th, 2016. On May 8th, 2017, FIFA had a complete bidding procedure in which only the member associations of CAF, CONCACAF, CONMEBOL, and the OFC were invited, as these continental confederations had not hosted the two previous World Cups.
In June 2018 the final decision regarding the 2026 World Cup venue was made, making Canada, Mexico, and United States the hosts of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
