Daniel Craig, the English actor most known for his stint as the secret agent James Bond aka 007, met Liverpool’s talismanic skipper and one of his favourite players in Boston. Liverpool were there for a pre-season clash with the Italian side AS Roma at the Fenway Park this summer.
The latest of the Bond series movie, Skyfall is set to hit the cinemas worldwide soon and the reporters, to no one’s surprise, caught Craig for an interview on his movie and his feeling on catching up with the Liverpool legend.
Craig believes Gerrard could do as well as a Bond as he does in the midfield for Liverpool. He was at his witty best when he came up with this:
“Who would I rather be, captain of Liverpool or Bond?” asked Craig. “Well, I don’t think I could keep up any more so Bond will do, but Steven Gerrard would make a good Bond.
“He is a good leader so you know what, seriously, who knows?”
Gerrard, for all the Liverpool fans, is already nothing less than a Bond. Had they been given a choice, Gerrard would have his jersey number as 007 instead of his famous No. 8.
The fans will take no time to second Craig on his opinion on Gerrard as a potential Bond.
He has been more heroic than any of the Bonds over the years and would fit the role perfectly. We have seen many sportspersons making it to Hollywood and even Bollywood, so it’s time may be we saw Gerrard as Bond.
This is how he would look:
Once he’s done with his playing career, he may now have an alternate career path.
