Manchester United’s Marouane Fellaini is expected to be out of action for up to two months after undergoing an operation to repair tendon damage as a result of an injury sustained in the Champions League clash against Shakhtar Donetsk in early October.
The £27.5million summer signing from Everton is yet to score a goal after signing for the Old Trafford club and has been delaying the operation as Moyes wanted him to boost his club’s midfield options.
But the situation got worse as he sustained a back injury as well which led to the manager change his mind and have both the issues sorted out at once.
David Moyes was quoted as saying by SkySports: “Fellaini has got an injury to his back which we hope might have healed up, but I’m going to send him for another scan.”
“If it hasn’t healed up, I might need to take a decision and get his wrist done as well. We hope his back would be only 10 days or so, but he is still feeling it.
“It’s a muscle that has separated from the bone in his back and that is what is causing the problem. We hoped it might have healed in 10 days or two weeks but he is not feeling much better today.”
