Real Madrid mid-fielder Xabi Alonso has extended his Real Madrid contract by 2 years. Alonso, whose contract was due to expire in the summer has penned the extension today.
The 32 year old has been linked to a host of clubs including former club Liverpool, Chelsea and even Manchester United, has put an end to speculation regarding his future by extending his current contract which will see him stay at the Santiago Bernabeu till 2016.
The Spain international took to his official Twitter account to reveal the news, stating: “I’ll be continuing at my home for two more years. It’s a pleasure to tell you this. I’m very very happy.”
