Xabi Alonso to think of contract extension with Real Madrid after recuperation

Xabi Alonso, considered to be one of the best midfielders in the world, has just one year left in his contract. The player’s agent says that Xabi will first concentrate on recovering from the injury and later think of an extension with Real Madrid.

The midfielder recently underwent a surgery on a fractured metatarsal and is recuperating from it.

“The media is not well informed,” Alonso’s agent Inaki Ibanez has told the media this week.

“Currently Xabi is injured and we have to wait for him to recover.”

“When this happens, we shall see what happens. Now that is our only concern.”

“Currently there is no scheduled meeting with Real Madrid.”
