Manchester City defensive midfielder Yaya Toure’s agent Dimitri Seluk has expressed his dissatisfaction at manager Pep Guardiola’s decision to leave the player out of the team’s UEFA Champions League squad. The 33-year-old has been allowed to play in only one of the five matches so far, in the UEFA Champions League play-off tie against Steaua Bucharest.

In response to the manager’s action which the agent believes is humiliating for Yaya Toure, Seluk has audaciously challenged Guardiola to apologise to the player in case they fail to win the UEFA Champions League.

Infamously outspoken Dimitri Seluk voiced his bold words by covering them with a joke later. However, jokes apart, he also admitted that he would publicly hail the manager in the best case scenario wherein the team wins the Champions League. Further, he confessed his reverence for Pep Guardiola displaying the seeming openness of his mind.

"If he wins the Champions League for City this season then I will travel to England and I will say on television that Pep Guardiola is the best manager in the world," Seluk told the Sunday Mirror.

“But if City don't win the Champions League then I hope that Pep has got the balls to say that he was wrong to humiliate a great player like Yaya. This is Pep's decision and we must respect it. Yaya is a professional and so he will do everything he is asked to do.

“Perhaps Pep will think he is good enough to play in the final 10 minutes of a League Cup game against a third division team – and, yes, I am joking.”

There were speculations of Yaya Toure moving to another club, however, he remains at the Etihad after the transfer deadline day. The player’s agent answered questions on his player’s movement this season declaring that Yaya will not leave in the January window also, instead, will be hoping to win his position back in the team.

Seluk continued, "But what I can tell you is that Yaya will spend the season at City. He will not be leaving in January. He hopes that he will get the chance to prove himself."

Yaya Toure was transferred to Manchester City from Barcelona in 2010, at the time when Pep Guardiola was managing the Catalan club.
