#9 Nuri Sahin (Borussia Dortmund - 17 years and 82 days)
It’s woven into the fabric of Borussia Dortmund that any player that arrives at the Signal Iduna Park will leave improved and this is largely down to their excellent proficiency in developing younger players.
Born in Germany to Turkish parents, Sahin started in the Dortmund youth ranks and quickly progressed to their first team, where he became the club’s youngest goalscorer by finding the net in a 2-1 win against 1. Nuremberg at the age of 17 years and 82 days.
#10 Ian Hamilton (Chelsea – 16 years and 138 days)
Chelsea too are a club who have invested heavily in their youthful contingent over the years but it’s not recently that their record was broken.
Hamilton became the youngest goalscorer for the Blues in a First Division match against London rivals Tottenham in 1967 with an equalising header. He was just 16 years and 138 days old.
