The marquee signing of the summer so far for Manchester United Zlatan Ibrahimovic is ready and rearing to go before his first game for the club. The Swede returned from his extended break after the Euros and has joined his new teammates in training.
The striker will be making his debut in front of his own countrymen in Ullevi Stadium Sweden. United will face Galatasaray and Zlatan is expected to start the game. The Red Devils lacked fire power last season and Zlatan might be the answer to their problems.
The Swede seemed in confident mood ahead of the game and spoke about his upcoming debut. “Everybody has been waiting for that moment, There has been a lot of talk and to make my debut in my country will feel great” he told MUTV.
Zlatan announced his arrival even before it was official on his Instagram account, a day before the window officially opened. He recently also announced his retirement from international football after playing his last game for the Sweden in the recently concluded Euros.
He also spoke about how the training sessions have been going for him at the new club.
“I think the fans are waiting for me to come back and they are waiting to enjoy not only me, but the team as well. Hopefully, we can give them a good game and, at the same time, we are in the preparation. We need to keep focused, to build up the physical part and the conditioning part but we will give them what they want.”
Ibra also spoke about his teammates after his first training session with them. “Positive vibes. They seem to be good guys, quality players, they train very hard and, during the training, are very focused. The coach - he is direct, he is concrete, he says what he wants and the players are adapting. So there are only positive things.”
“I believe in working hard. Not only in games but even in training. The way you train is the way you play in the games - that's my philosophy. 'Working hard, training hard and feeling good. Then you need to get the rhythm by playing games.”
United fans will be definitely excited by Zlatan's words and will hope he can help them return to the pinnacle of the Premier League once again.
