Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed that Zlatan Ibrahimovic has signed a one-year extension to his club contract that will keep him at Parc des Princes till 2016.

The 31-year-old striker joined Les Parisiens in 2012 on a three-year contract from AC Milan and subsequently, played a crucial role by scoring the most number of goals in the league, as his club won the Ligue-1 title after a span of 18 years.

The Swedish international, who was widely linked to a move away from PSG, has quashed all the rumours by confirming that he wants to stay in France for three more years.

Delighted by the renewal of Ibrahimovic’s contract, the club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi said: “The new contract of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, one of the best players in the world, leaves a lasting mark on the history of Paris Saint-Germain and is a very strong signal of intent. Together, we aim to lead the club to the European summit.”
