What is the lore behind Coral Commandos in Fortnite?
Coral Commandos are not part of the storyline directly, but the creatures that can be seen on the Back Bling have been a recurring occurrence in-game. They are known as Coral Buddies and are likely a developing civilization from Atlantis. When it comes to their appearance, they are jellylike blobs of sentient coral.
It would appear that a more combat experienced group of Coral Buddies decided to take their chances and hop on a Back Bling. The official in-game description for Coral Commandos reads, “Ready for the trenches. Reactive: Sings songs for those you eliminate.” Thankfully, they cannot be harmed in-game, so you don’t have to worry about these singing Coral Buddies being eliminated when opponents shoot at you.
