What is the lore behind Chigusa in Fortnite?

Chigusa is widely regarded as one the earliest Fortnite Anime skins to have been introduced to the Metaverse. Although her origin is unclear, it is evident that Epic Games took inspiration from a post-modern Japanese setting. That said, she also has a variant (snapshot) in-game called Koi Agent Chigusa. Much like the original, both have a rather vague backstory in-game.

Chigusa's official description reads, "Journalist turned vigilante sworn to liberate the world from R.E.M.Corp's virtual prison." Given the aforementioned details, the only thing that can be said with utmost certainty is that she is a vigilante. It would seem that merely reporting facts as presented was not enough for her. She wanted to be involved in things and play a more active role in things.

In a weird way, the character's lore oddly takes a page out of Cyberpunk 2077 given her design aesthetics. Other than this, there is nothing else worth mentioning about Chigusa. She has never played an active role in the game's storyline nor has she been featured as NPC. Perhaps Epic Games may extend on her lore in the future, but for now, this is the full extent of things.
