Kinetic Blade in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 has become a melee alternative to the Typhoon Blade. While the mechanics differ for both weapons, the former has been tried and tested to the limit when it was first introduced in Chapter 4 Season 2 (MEGA). As such, it has now become a welcomed addition to the loot pool of Chapter 6 Season 1.
On that note, here are a few ways in which you can use the Kinetic Blade in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 to maximize your in-game advantage.

Breaking fall damage and four other ways to utilize the power of the Kinetic Blade in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1
1) Travel vast distances in a flash or escape to safety
One of the best qualities of the Kinetic Blade in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 is the ability to travel vast distances. With the island featuring a lot of open ground, the need to move about is vital. You can use vehicles and Sprites for mobility, but the Kinetic Blade is a much better option. This is because it will propel you forward in the direction of your choosing.
If you happen to pick a not-so-good landing location in Fortnite and find yourself surrounded by enemies, a Kinetic Blade will offer you redemption. Irrespective of how the intensity of the fighting, you can soar through the air and get to safety.
2) Rotate to high ground and flank opponents
The Kinetic Blade in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 is not just for performing escape tricks. In combat, you can use the weapon to launch a surprise attack on opponents on high ground. The last thing enemies expect is a frontal aerial assault on their location.
They might be in a good defensive position, but shooting a fast-moving target is not easy. Once you're in melee range, opponents tend to panic and miss their shots, making it easier for you to deal the final blow.
If mounting a head-on assault like Erwin Smith or Leeroy Jenkins is not your style, you can always execute a flanking maneuver. Use the Kinetic Blade in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 to rotate around the opponent and catch them off guard.
If you're quick and precise with your strikes, Victory Royale will be yours. If you are sneaky enough, you can hide and use the Lock-On Pistol to get an easy elimination.
3) Break fall damage
There's nothing more annoying than being sent flying through the air after a Shockwave Grenade detonates next to you. Or perhaps you were slide-tackled and sent flying off a cliff. Or maybe you just got careless and tumbled off a bridge by mistake. The common denominator in all these instances is that you'll likely end up being sent back to the lobby.
This is where the Kinetic Blade in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 can be a real lifesaver. Instead of accepting your fate and falling to your merry end, you can use the weapon's special attack to break your fall. If you are fast enough, you can counter-attack as well; there's nothing scarier than seeing a player go from Tom Petty's "Free Fallin" to Black Sabbath's "War Pigs" mode in a second or two.
4) Break through builds and other structures to get to opponents
The Kinetic Blade in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 is also great at breaking through builds and structures in general. If you need to dash into an opponent's box or get through a wooden wall with haste, the special attack will see it done. However, be careful while attacking, as you will need to time your special attacks to avoid being counter-attacked by the opponent.
On the flipside of using the Kinetic Blade in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 to dash into builds, you can use it to dash out of them as well. This is more useful in Battle Royale than Zero Build, but the same strategy can be used, nonetheless. Use the weapon to dash out of buildings if you need to escape or give chase to opponents.
5) Key an eye on durability
The Kinetic Blade in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 has undergone a slight change (one the community has not taken too kindly to). The weapon in question now has a durability limit like the weapons and items in LEGO Fortnite Odyssey. Once the limit has been reached, the weapon is rendered useless.
To avoid being caught with your Kicks in a twist, it's always a good idea to keep an eye on the durability of your weapon. Consider swapping it out when possible. This will ensure that your Kinetic Blade in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 has enough juice left in it until the end of the match.
