The Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 is live now and the community is loving it so far. With the new season, a new batch of NPCs has arrived on the island. There are 11 regular NPC and 3 NPC bosses across the map. All of these characters have an interesting set of dialogues that unveils the ongoing lore better and also have some amazing weapons and items to trade.

All the NPCs sell items and services in exchange for Gold Bars. Some of them can also be hired as a teammate. Gold Bars can be earned by either eliminating other players or by opening Cash Register and Safes anywhere on the map.

All the NPCs give a free random healing item upon first interaction. If you accidentally attack an NPC, you can not hire it. The rarity of the weapons offered by these NPCs could differ from game to game, ranging from Uncommon to Epic.
How to identify whether the NPC can be hired or not

If an NPC is available for hire, you could see a profile icon with a plus mark on both the map and above the head of that NPC. To hire them, simply go closer to the NPC and interact with it. If the hire button is not available, either the NPC has already been hired by an opponent, or eliminated.
