“Almost got a heart attack while watching this”: Fortnite community reacts to player’s unfortunate drowning experience in Chapter 5 Season 3

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 is filled to the brim with content, with Epic Games introducing a whole new layer of gameplay by focusing on the title's vehicular aspects to go along with the Mad Max-inspired post-apocalyptic theme of the season. However, while players have been enjoying the vehicular warfare of the new season, it has not been without its share of unfortunate moments.

This is highlighted in a recent Reddit post shared by u/Alternative_Exit7749, where the player can be seen in a squad Zero Build match, driving around in one of the Mythic Nitro Cars in Chapter 5 Season 3.

However, as they attempted to cross a body of water in their car, the player collided with a structure and were pushed under a platform. This left them stuck underwater. With no way to get out of the situation, they slowly drowned and were eventually eliminated.

The Reddit clip attracted a lot of attention from the community, with u/nickdonkey commenting on the claustrophobia of the Chapter 5 Season 3 moment, saying:

Other members of the community also chimed in on the situation, with Redditor u/ToonaSandWatch expressing their surprise at the fact that players can drown in the game, something that is a little-known feature. This was especially surprising since, most of the time, the water pushes players back to the surface.

Redditor u/josuefco echoed this sentiment, stating how they did not know that it was even possible to even drown in the game while also revealing how they had something similar happen to them in a match. To this, u/Tight-Flatworm-8181 joked about how the Fortnite v30.10 update messed things up, making situations like the one in this clip possible.

Jokingly referencing the game's focus on vehicles and Vehicle Mods in Chapter 5 Season 3 and comparing it to Rocket League, Reddit user u/Derpymell commented:

"Rocket League With Guns is still in early access, give it time and please be patient."

How to get Mythic Nitro Cars in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3

Despite what happened in the Reddit clip, the Mythic Nitro Cars introduced in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 are undoubtedly some of the best assets players can have during a match. There are a total of three Mythic Nitro Cars in the game, and they can be found at the new locations in Chapter 5 Season 3.

However, it is important to note that the vehicles are locked behind a cage. To unlock the cage and get the vehicle, players have to defeat the Boss NPC of that specific location. They can then use the Boss NPC's Medallion to unlock the cage and acquire the Mythic Nitro Car.
