“Battle Damaged Vader would be a nice option”: Fortnite player proposes an idea to deal with Battle Pass exclusive outfits

The Fortnite Battle Pass is one of the game's biggest flagship features, with the Pass providing players with a constant stream of new and exclusive cosmetics that they can acquire by progressing through a season. However, one of the more contentious aspects of the Battle Pass has been the collaborations, with the community frequently expressing their dissatisfaction at these sought-after cosmetics being exclusive to the Passes.

In a bid to solve this issue, Reddit user u/Gr8BigFatso recently shared a post where they proposed the idea of a Battle Damaged variant of the Darth Vader Outfit, stating:

“Battle Damaged Vader would be a nice option.”

The player pointed out how it could be a good way for players to get their hands on Darth Vader despite not being active during Chapter 3 Season 3, the Battle Pass which included Vader. Furthermore, they highlighted how exclusive collaborations in the Battle Pass can work as long as the character has a variant coming to the Item Shop, using Wolverine and the Weapon X Outfit as an example.

The Reddit post ignited a variety of discussions among members of the community, with players coming forward to express their opinions regarding the player's idea. Reddit user u/Muted_Anywhere2109 expressed their support for the proposal put forward in the Reddit post, highlighting how skins like the Carnage Outfit could benefit from this idea.

Meanwhile, u/3NUB1S expressed how, while the concept is good, they would much rather have the original Darth Vader Outfit with the Battle Damaged Vader look being an edit style. u/ToxicAtomKai took it one step further, expressing how Epic Games should just re-release Battle Pass items back into the Fortnite Item Shop and get rid of the FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) factor.

Further echoing the sentiments of bringing old Battle Pass collaboration skins back to the game, u/Apprentice_Jedi commented:

"Or just sell old collab skins in the shop. It really doesn’t have to be this complicated."

Will Epic Games add skins like Battle Damaged Darth Vader to Fortnite?

From the Reddit post and the reactions in the comments, it is clear that players are at least in support of receiving variants of Battle Pass skins like Darth Vader. This brings up the question of whether Epic Games is willing to bring a different look for the iconic character to the game.

Thankfully, due to the presence of skins like Spider-Man Zero, Wolverine Zero, and the newly released Weapon X Outfit among others, it is clear that Epic Games is willing to bring back previously released Battle Pass collaboration with a new twist. This could mean that Darth Vader comes to the game later down the line and players have a chance to add the Supreme Commander to their in-game inventory.
