Fortnite is a constantly evolving game, where every new update has the potential to impact a meta and completely change the landscape of a particular season. While some of these changes can be more obvious, others manage to fly under the radar, only being revealed when players continue to explore the in-game mechanics. One such mechanic is the hired NPCs, which have been continuing to grow in prominence in Chapter 5 Season 3.
This is highlighted in a recent Reddit post shared by u/DiamondChiwawa, where the player uploaded a clip featuring popular streamer Ninja in a match in Chapter 5 Season 3, donning his Icon Series skin and engaging against an enemy driving in a vehicle. While Ninja was able to put the player's modded-out vehicle to a halt with Shield Breaker EMP, the enemy got away.
However, their hired NPC stayed behind and was able to laser Ninja, dealing a ton of damage with precise aim. The moment has attracted a lot of attention from the community, with players coming forward to comment on the situation of hired NPCs in Chapter 5 Season 3, leading u/_Luk3 to jokingly state:
Master the game with our Fortnite Interactive Map v33.00 here!
“Bots got that elite gaming chair”
Other members of the community dove into the comments and opined on the moment experienced by Ninja during one of his streams. Reddit user u/Global-Ambassador-39 immediately drew comparisons to the infamous henchman clip from Chapter 2 Season 2, where Ninja was shot out of the sky with exceptional aim from a Henchman at the Agency.
Redditor u/bannie9212, on the other hand, joked about hired NPCs in the game having either the worst aim or the best aim without any in-between. Meanwhile, u/mynamejulian expressed their confusion at the growing power of hired Fortnite NPCs in Chapter 5 Season 3.
Complimenting the hired NPC's aim and skill displayed in the Reddit clip, u/BrilliantAd6010 jokingly commented:
"That NPC is cracked my dude"
Why are hired NPCs so powerful in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3?
There have been growing reports from members of the community coming across hired NPCs with impeccable aim. This has led many to question what makes bots so powerful in Chapter 5 Season 3. A simple but possible explanation is that Epic Games might have made some changes to the bots with a recent update, potentially the v30.20 patch.
That said, it is impossible to pinpoint this as the correct explanation since the changes have not been exactly communicated to the players.
