Alastair Aiken, better known as Ali-A, was added to the Hall of Fame in Fortnite back in May 2022. After creating content for the game for years on end, the developers finally gave him his own Icon Series skin. Despite the controversy surrounding his clickbait content, on a whole, he's still well-respected in the community.
Once his Icon Series skin was added to the Item Shop, his popularity skyrocketed yet again in-game. All went well until the final day of 2022, when on December 31, he posted a series of pictures on his Instagram account to celebrate his list of achievements.

In an Instagram post, Ali-A posted four pictures showcasing his greatest achievements for 2022, listing them in this particular order. They are:
- Honeymoon’d in the Maldives
- Launched my Fortnite Icon skin
- Had our first baby, little Theo
- Reached 10 Million subscribers on my 2nd channel
While Ali-A did not post anything obscene, the post seemingly divided the opinion of users. According to a few, the placement of the Fortnite Icon Series skin before the birth of his firstborn child, Theo, was rather odd. One user replied to the original post and said:
Despite the original poster stating that this was a joke and asking users not to assume and talk badly about the same, a few made hurtful statements. One user went to the extreme by saying this:
Thankfully, not everyone on the internet jumped to conclusions or enjoyed 'trolling' for merely posting pictures. After the post went viral, users with more sound logic began to appear and imparted some wise words. One of them being this:
Suffice to say, not all replies were in favor of Ali-A, and offered a mix-and-match of viewpoints and perspectives. Since users were divided in their opinion about the situation, and naturally, replies varied in nature. Here are a few more:
While a few users tried to look at things from a logical standpoint, others took to trolling Ali-A in the post. According to many users, his Fortnite Icon Series skin is 'cooler' than his newborn:
All things said and considered, while fans are divided on the subject matter, for the most part, it's just people overreacting. Given that none of the pictures were lewd in any way or discredited human life in favor of the Fortnite Icon Series skin, most of the comments were uncalled for.
What did Ali-A have to say about the situation?
Given that Alastair is no stranger to controversies and drama on the internet, he didn't react to the situation in an out-of-hand manner. Rather than taking to social media to 'fight' trolls and users who badmouthed him, he merely clarified that things were listed in chronological order.
Fans who have followed him on social media throughout 2022 can attest to the fact that everything he wrote did happen in that particular order. In fact, a quick visit to his social profile will provide the same proof. All said and done, this is yet another case of the internet taking a molehill and turning it into a mountain for no reason other than "they could."
