Fortnite is about to ban multiple accounts in Chapter 4, check if you're one of them

Multiple Fortnite Battle Royale players were recently banned for exploiting several glitches. This took place in late December 2022 during Epic Games' winter break, which is not something that the development team took too lightly.

Many players used a Discord bot to access hidden cosmetics in the Item Shop or play unreleased limited-time game modes. Many have also used the bot for XP exploits and quick levels in Chapter 4 Season 1.

Due to this, Epic banned multiple players, but only for 12 hours. However, it turns out that another ban wave is coming, and this time, the suspension may last much longer.

Epic Games added Slap Berries, a new foraged item, with the release of Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1. These items can be used to restore health and shield and gain infinite energy for a limited time.

Unfortunately, many Fortnite players used these foraged items a few weeks ago to level up quickly. More specifically, they used a Discord bot to gain access to unreleased limited-time game modes, which is where they used the glitch.

One of the unreleased modes was the Sword Fight. There is a reason why Epic Games hasn't released it yet, and it's most likely because the mode is glitchy. Many players were aware of this, yet they used it to gain XP and level up their Battle Pass.

Shortly after Epic found out about this exploit, thousands of Fortnite fans were banned. However, most of them were banned for only 12 hours, which wasn't a big deal. Unfortunately, it appears that this is not the end.

According to iFireMonkey, one of the most reputable Fortnite leakers, Epic Games will issue more matchmaking bans in the future. This information comes from MagmaReef, the head of security at Epic.

It is currently unknown when the game developer will do this or how long the bans will last, but it could happen any day. Considering Epic has returned from winter break, these bans can be issued before the next update, which may arrive on Tuesday, January 10.

It's important to note that players who have been banned were not just suspended for using the Fortnite XP glitch. They also used a bot to access unreleased game modes, which is a serious offense.

When it comes to XP glitches in the Creative mode, Epic Games mostly has no issues with players using them. The Creative mode has XP enabled, and one is supposed to level up in it. However, the only difference is that several creator-made maps make this process passive.

As long as players stick to Creative glitches, they should be fine. Playing unreleased game modes and doing other things through Discord bots is much more serious, which is why it's not surprising that Epic Games is cracking down on it.
