Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 will soon come to a close. There's less than a month left for players to enjoy the Chrome-filled season and try to unlock skins like Paradigm and Spider-Gwen. In early December, all cosmetics, challenges, and more will be unavailable.
However, when that happens, it will not transition to Chapter 3 Season 5. Instead, Epic Games is already introducing Chapter 4. In Chapter 2 Season 8, they decided to forego the last few seasons and enter Chapter 3. Now, they're doing it even earlier with Chapter 4.
What to know about upcoming Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1
Chapter 3 Season 4 began on September 18, following a long Chapter 3 Season 3. Conversely, the current season will not last nearly as long. According to game journalist Tom Henderson, the new season will begin on December 5.

Chapter 4 Season 1 will begin roughly two days after Chapter 3 Season 3 ends. This is because a major live event has been confirmed. The event is scheduled for December 3. While it won't take terribly long, the downtime will reportedly last for nearly two days.
This would imply that big changes are coming to the game. Chapter 3 Season 1 debuted after a lengthy downtime with Epic Games introducing numerous changes.
A new map can be expected, too. Most of the changes that take place from season to season involve the map. With such a long break scheduled in between, the map can be expected to undergo multiple changes next season.
This is also based on the fact that Chrome has been wreaking havoc on the island this season. It's already changed the map quite a bit and assuming it's not around next season, there could potentially be lasting changes.
Chapter modifications, as evidenced by Chapter 2 Season 1 and Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1, almost always come with major changes to the island. In some instances, it's a brand new island.
That may not be the case since the island has been flipped over, and players have essentially seen all there is to it. That said, big changes are probably coming to the existing island.
Many of these won't be present at the onset of Fortnite Chapter 4, but HYPEX has stated that there will be a few massive shifts coming next season.
These include:
- First-person mode
- Ridable flying wildlife
- Motorcycles
- Another fashion/apparel brand collaboration
- Creative 2.0
Since these are such big changes, they'll probably be delayed until throughout Fortnite Chapter 4. However, they will be coming next season at some point.
Please keep in mind that this information is largely based on leaks and speculative theories. As such, it isn't guaranteed to come to fruition until Epic shares a confirmation.
