The official release date for Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 was changed a few hours ago. It's now stated that Chapter 4 Season 1 will end on March 8, 2023, instead of March 10, 2023.
While many initially thought this was a hoax, the information came from the official Twitter account for updates called Fortnite Status. As of now, it's unknown why Epic Games made this decision to cut the current season short by two days. However, there is some good news.

Given the changes to XP values this season, many players are well below the level 150 mark. Everyone is now rushing to reach seasonal level 200 and complete the Battle Pass in less than a month.
With the season randomly cut short, it will be harder to level up in time. While there's an option to purchase the upcoming level-up pack and gain 28 seasonal levels in record-breaking time, it doesn't come for free. Players who are unable to unlock these cosmetics will be unable to retrieve them later as these do not make their way into the item shop
Players will have to spend V-Bucks to purchase the pack and collect tokens during gameplay to earn levels. It's the same for those considering buying Battle Pass Levels. However, the developers have been considerate enough to make provisions for cutting the season short.
Starting March 2, 2023, players will receive a boost of Supercharged XP each day they log in. Remember that while this is a good compromise, the XP boost will barely last one level. Those considering depending on Supercharged XP alone to reach seasonal level 200 may have to rethink their strategy.
It's best to try and complete as many Milestones and weekly challenges as possible to earn the maximum amount of XP. Playing Creative mode is an excellent alternative way to earn XP. Those who own Save The World should also complete daily quests/weekly challenges to level up in-game.
Why did Epic Games bring forward the release date of Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2?
As mentioned, there's only speculation to go by without an official reason. Given that Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 will begin sometime on March 8 or 9 (depending on the time zone), the decision to launch a new season on a weekday is rather perplexing.
Epic Games usually tries to push new seasons/chapters on weekends to ensure that everyone can play. If a guess has to be made, the change may have to do with collaborations, specifically those that feature on the Battle Pass.
Based on the timeline, the only major show premiering close to the launch of Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 is Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 3. With this being the last chance for Epic Games to collaborate with the franchise before the series ends, the release date may have been brought forward due to a potential collaboration.
That said, this is based on pure speculation. As of now, neither leakers nor insiders have been able to find anything related to Attack on Titan within the game files. Nevertheless, with three more weeks to go until Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2, a lot could change by then. A clearer picture should start to emerge by the end of February 2023.
