Although it's merely spring-time in the metaverse and Fortnitemares is far away, it seems that information pertaining to Winterfest 2023 is being leaked ahead of time. According to leaker/data miner Wensoing, Epic Games is creating something magical for the community. One of the oldest skins/Outfits in-game is getting a makeover for the Holiday Season.
While this may not seem like much, some players have been waiting for what seems like a lifetime to get their hands on this skin/Outfit. The character in question that's being re-skinned is none other than Aerial Assault Trooper, an 'OG' skin/Outfit from Fortnite Chapter 1 Season 1.

According to the leaker, this variant of the Aerial Assault Trooper skin/Outfit is currently in development. The skin/Outfit will feature a Back Bling and Dual-Wielded Pickaxe (aka Harvesting Tool) and will likely be added to the Item Shop when ready.
Since this information was posted on April 1, 2023, many initially assumed it was an April Fool's Day joke. However, it was later confirmed by Wensoing that the Concept skin/Outfit was real, and the ID related to the cosmetic was posted as well.
That being said, there's no information as to when the skin/Outfit will be added to the Item Shop. With Winterfest 2023 starting mid-December, there's a lot of time left for Epic Games to decide the precise date/time for Gingerbread Aerial Assault Trooper's debut. On that note, here are a few reactions from the community:
As seen in the comments, players are overjoyed at the fact that this 'OG' skin/Outfit is getting a new variant. In all probability, it should cost somewhere between 1,200 and 1,500 V-Bucks. Alternatively, it could be featured as a free Winterfest 2023 skin/Outfit, but that's left to be seen.
What else can players expect to see during Fortnite Winterfest 2023?
Despite the Holiday Season being months away, as is tradition, players can expect a lot of freebies and winter-theme cosmetics to be added back to the Item Shop. Concept skins/Outfits may also be featured there. As for the island, it will likely be covered in snow to better suit the aesthetic look/feel of winter. Items/weapons that are associated with the Holiday Season will also be unvaulted.
Apart from these generic changes, new content based on the prevalent theme of the season will also be introduced. Since it's only April, it's too soon to speculate what big changes players can expect to see. Nevertheless, given the current trajectory and how many new mechanics/features Epic Games is adding to Fortnite, Winterfest 2023 is going to be amazing.
