Fortnite concept brings character customization to life in its perfect form

Customizable skins are few and far between in Fortnite. Considering that many cosmetics have 'styles' and/or 'variants,' Epic Games doesn't really focus on skins that can be heavily customized in a holistic manner. Although there is one skin that breaks this norm, Gear Specialist Maya, it isn't available for purchase from the Item Shop.

As such, nothing similar has been released in the game for a long time. While Snap, Toona Fish, Superheros, and Kymera can be taken into consideration, they fall under a completely different category. Seeing this lack of customizable skins, one Reddit user has created a concept which they claim is the "pinnacle of character customization."

Creativity Royale could be Fortnite's answer to truly customizable characters

In a recent Reddit post, u/MoneyLion_ showcased a concept cosmetic bundle that can only be described as mind-boggling. Although the bundles mentioned above are customizable to an extent, this concept would allow the player to customize every single aspect of their character, and quite literally make it their own.

As seen in the picture, unlike other characters that have a set model to use as the base, players will be free to choose their own model with this concept. The character in question could be anything from a human to a robot or even something completely out of this world, if the user desires.

What's more, this concept not only focuses on the character model in Fortnite, but the entire character as a whole. Besides facial and bodily aspects, players will also be able to outfit their characters with cosmetics that they prefer.

The character will have a fixed set of clothes, accessories (hats, jewelry, gloves, etc), a unique lobby/locker pose, personalized Back Bling, and Harvesting Tool. This would naturally extend to the Glider as well. Since they come in many shapes and sizes, a personalized one would be fairly interesting.

While this concept is exciting, the creator did provide a few guidelines to keep things fair for Epic Games. Despite freely being able to customize the character, it would be a "one-and-done" type of deal. Once everything has been finalized, players won't be able to hit the reset button as and when they please. u/MoneyLion_ says:

"Once an item has been customized, it cannot be refunded. All items have three lifetime reset options (skins can be reset for free when in the creating screen) to customize it from scratch."

With all that said and done, the concept is certainly well-thought-out and planned. Given such a level of creative freedom, players can make their perfect character as envisioned by them. However, not everyone's convinced that this would be a good idea in Fortnite. Here's what other users have to say:

As seen by the majority of the comments, while the idea is great, it may not turn out to be as good in-game. With players always on the lookout for skins that blend into the environment, most would simply use an all-white or all-black outfit to gain an edge during the match. This would obviously make the customization worthless to a large extent.

Furthermore, with Epic Games still experimenting with skins in Fortnite, adding this concept in-game may prove to be a loss to the developers. With cosmetics being the lifeblood and a major source of revenue, having character customization to this level may stop players from purchasing skins from the Item Shop.
