This season brings significant changes, including a shift from duos to trios for all Major events and an updated tournament structure. With a larger total prize pool and fierce competition, this year’s FNCS is shaping up to be yet another successful season for the Fortnite competitive scene.

Everything we know about Fortnite FNCS 2025 Major 1 Grand Finals

The Fortnite FNCS 2025 Major 1 Grand Finals will be played during Chapter 6 Season 1, beginning on February 15, 2025. It is an online tournament, and two similar major events will be hosted later this year. The top-performing trios from all three Major Grand Finals will qualify for the FNCS Global Championship 2025 which will be on LAN.

1) How to qualify

The FNCS 2025 Major 1 introduces a unique multi-stage qualification process. Here’s a breakdown:

  1. Divisional Cups: An open-for-all weekly tournament that groups the teams into three divisions. After five weeks, the teams in Division 1 qualify for the Play-In stage.
  2. Play-In stage: In this stage, the top teams on the leaderboard (top 99 in Europe and North America Central and top 66 in all other regions) advance to the Group Stage.
  3. Group stage: In the Group Stage, teams compete in their respective groups to secure a spot in the Major Finals. Victory Royales grants instant qualification while other teams are qualified based on overall performance and consistency.
  4. Last Chance Qualifier: Teams that don’t make it past the Group Stage have one final opportunity to earn a spot at the Fortnite FNCS 2025 Major 1 Grand Finals.

The number of trios that will qualify for the 2025 Global Championship through Fortnite FNCS 2025 Major 1 Grand Finals from each region is as follows:

  • Europe: 2
  • North America Central: 2
  • North America West: 1
  • Asia: 1
  • Middle East: 1
  • Brazil: 1
  • Oceania: 1

2) Prize Pool

The FNCS 2025 Major 1 Grand Finals features a total prize pool of $2.08 million, distributed across regions as follows:

  • Europe: $816,000
  • North America Central: $562,500
  • Brazil: $180,000
  • North America West: $180,000
  • Asia: $90,000
  • Middle East: $90,000
  • Oceania: $90,000

The total prize pool for the FNCS 2025 season is $8 million, which is slightly more than the previous year ($7.67 million).
