Fortnite: How to assist in defeating a Highcard Boss

The Highcard Boss was added to Fortnite at the start of Chapter 4 Season 2. He's aligned with the "Cold Blooded" faction that appeared towards the end of the previous season during the "Most Wanted" side-story. With a 'syndicate-war' brewing in the shadows, it seems obvious that members of the involved factions will be lurking about on the island.

As part of the "This Season" Challenge, for week four, players will have to assist in defeating a Highcard Boss. This particular NPC 'rifts' onto the island along with some lackeys in a bid to 'flex' their muscles. By defeating him in combat, players will not only make the island safer, but earn 12,000 experience points in the process as well.

Here's a step-by-step guide on how to assist in defeating a Highcard Boss in Fortnite

1) Land at a POI where the Highcard Boss spawns

Highcard Boss NPC will spawn at three locations on the island: Brutal Bastion, Mega City, and Shattered Slabs. Unlike the 'Rift Encounters' that randomly appear all over the island, his spawn locations are fixed. That being said, players will have to choose one of these three locations in order to start this Challenge.

2) Secure the area and wait until the first Storm Circle shrinks

After selecting one of the three spawn locations, players will have to land and secure the area. While Mega City and Shattered Slabs are good locations, Brutal Bastion is the best for several reasons.

Given its layout, securing the high ground will be easier, as players can use the Ziplines and Ascenders to rapidly move about from one point to the next. As long as players are able to find decent weapons and ammo right after the landing phase ends, they will be able to secure the POI.

About three minutes into the match, the first Storm Circle will shrink. Prior to this occurring, a sound visualization will appear in the POI, indicating that the Highcard Boss is preparing to 'rift' into the location.

3) Inflict damage on the Highcard Boss to assist in defeating him

Although the Highcard Boss belongs to a faction within Fortnite that's involved with organized crime, the NPC and his lackeys aren't hostile towards players. They only respond aggressively when shot at. Having said that, players don't need to rush to engage them in combat as soon as they appear.

The goal here is to assist in defeating the Highcard Boss without taking much damage. To do this, players should head for high ground and look for a good vantage point from where they can shoot. Using a Heavy Sniper Rifle to start off the engagement would be a wise choice.

Keep in mind that since the Challenge mentions the word 'assist', players don't have to land the finishing blow. Shooting the Highcard Boss to damage him should suffice. Lastly, while this Challenge can be completed while playing Solo, the task will be significantly easier in Duos, Trios, and/or Squads mode.
