The ability to tame Wildlife in Fortnite was introduced back in Chapter 2 Season 6. While the functionality of this mechanic and its ease of execution has evolved, the core purpose remains the same.
Players can use tamed Wildlife to travel around the map, and as companions, they can attack enemies as well. This is useful in a fight since players can simply jump off and let their mount go to work, dealing damage to opponents.
Given how good mounts have become, Epic Games wants players to damage opponents with ranged weapons while riding Wildlife. Upon completion of this task, they'll be awarded 20,000 XP.

A step-by-step guide on how to damage opponents with ranged weapons while riding Wildlife in Fortnite
1) Acquire suitable weapons, ammo, and food for the Wildlife
The first step to completing this challenge is to find suitable weapons and ammo for them. Since players will be moving and firing, it's best to choose weapons that have large magazines and the capability to fire rapidly.
That said, the EvoChrome Assault Rifle and the Cobra DMR should be perfect for this challenge. One weapon offers decent close-to-mid-range damage, while the other has good long-range capabilities. Alongside these weapons, finding ammo is a must as well.
Once weapons and ammo have been collected, the next step is to secure food for the would-be tamed Wildlife. Those looking to tame a wolf will need to find meat, while boar enthusiasts will have to look for fruits and vegetables. Once a fair amount of the required food items have been found, it's time to proceed to the next step of the challenge.
2) Look for Wildlife to tame
Spotting Wildlife on the island shouldn't take very long. That said, the safest place to tame them is Fort Jonesy. Players can land at this location and gear up with little to no combat. For those who feel the location will not satisfy their looting requirements, they can land quite literally anywhere on the map and find Wildlife nearby.
Once a wolf or boar has been spotted, the next step is to tame them. To do this, all players need to do is jump on them to complete the taming process. Alternatively, food can be used to stop them from moving, which makes the process significantly easier. Once completed, even if players dismount, the tamed Wildlife will still follow them.
3) Seek out opponents to deal damage
After taming one's preferred Wildlife, the final step of the challenge requires players to deal damage to opponents while riding Wildlife. Since the challenge doesn't clearly specify what it means by saying "riding," there are two ways to interpret this.
One could mean that players merely have to mount Wildlife, shoot, and deal damage to opponents. Another could mean that they have to move around on the tamed Wildlife and deal damage to opponents. Either way, since an AR or DMR will likely be used for the task, it shouldn't be too difficult to complete.
On that note, before engaging opponents, it's wise to use Chrome Splash. This will provide the tamed Wildlife with more HP and allow it to regenerate hit points when injured. Once this is done, seek out opponents and deal 200 damage to complete this challenge and earn XP.
