Every Fortnitemare, Epic Games introduces Halloween assets to the game. Some of the newest additions, like the Willow boss NPC and Zombie Chicken, terrify players and for good reason. However, other assets are more welcoming despite being spooky in nature, with one of these being Jack-O-Lanterns.

These can be found all over the island and as the name suggests, they are carved from fresh pumpkins like in real-life. The developers in their infinite wisdom have decided to reward players with 15,000 XP for destroying five of these. Since they are harmless, this should be an easy task for most players.

1) Land at a quiet POI

Although Jack-O-Lanterns can be found all over the island, given that certain POIs are hot-drop locations, it may not be the best idea to land in those areas. To complete this task as safely as possible, players should pick POIs that seldom witness fighting during the early game.

A good example of such locations are Synapse Station, Fort Jonesy, and Shiny Sound. That said, players will likely run into one or two enemies nevertheless and they should be dealt with quickly.

2) Find weapons and gear up

Once on the ground, the next thing to do is look for weapons, ammo, and other supplies. Gearing up as soon as possible is vital. If done too slowly, other opponents within the POI may destroy the Jack-O-Lanterns first.

While finding any weapon and a few rounds worth of ammo should suffice, healing items should be stockpiled as well. There's no telling when a jumpscare or wild animal will attack, so it's best to be ready for anything.

Once weapons and other supplies have been located, players will next have to look for Jack-O-Lanterns to destroy. They are orange in color and rather hard to miss as they stand out from the game's environment. With that said, finding five of them will not be a difficult task.

Based on how many there are on the island, completing the task within the confines of one location will be quite easy. Keep in mind that they spawn in and around houses. Once players have located one, they have to use a ranged weapon to destroy it. Hitting it with a harvesting tool will not count towards this particular challenge's progression.

While Jack-O-Lanterns can be found all over the island, based on personal experience, Fort Jonesy is by far the best location. Since it's located on the edge of the island, this POI has very few gunfights during the early game.

Even if there is combat, thanks to the uneven terrain and open space, rotating out of the area should be easy enough. Players do not have to get bogged down by gunfire. That said, it is advisable to keep an eye out for wildlife. Wolves are plentiful in the area and will attack on sight.
