Fortnite often gives away free cosmetics, almost always for some specific reason. Sometimes, Epic Games wants players to try new things in-game, so it sets challenges with fun rewards. Other times, it's in response to a perceived failure on their part.
That said, one of the most common reasons Epic gives away free cosmetics is to promote an event in the game, of which FNCS is a prominent example.
One of the newest free rewards along those lines is the Badge of Glory back bling. Here's how you can get it.

Free FNCS back bling in Fortnite Chapter 4: How to unlock
Like many FNCS rewards, this is directly tied to Twitch. As many streamers play there, the platform constitutes a big part of Fortnite's audience. Big events are often shown live on the site as well.
Here are the steps to ensure you can get the free FNCS back bling:
- First, you must ensure that the proper account is linked. If you have a Twitch profile, it's best to link that to Epic Games, so any time a drop-related reward is available, you can earn it easily.
- Next, you have to watch streams. These must be streams that have drops enabled, though. Many streamers will try and trick viewers by putting drops into their captions, but they won't actually have any drops enabled. This will not suffice for the FNCS back bling.
- Find a Twitch drops stream. Tabor Hill, SypherPK, and many others qualify for this, but you can simply search for Drops-enabled streamers and find one.
- The rewards for this, of which there are four, are earned in stages. Once you've watched the eligible stream for 30 minutes, you'll earn the reward.
- You then have to go redeem the reward from the Drops section on Twitch. Then, the timer will start again, and you can return to watching the stream.
- After redeeming the reward on Twitch, it should eventually appear in the game. Once another 30 minutes have passed, the second free reward will be available. Repeat step five from there.
- Continue this until you've redeemed all rewards. You will have to watch for two hours in 30-minute intervals to get the back bling, which is the final reward.
Remember that time will not count for any subsequent rewards unless you redeem the first reward.
To get the Fortnite FNCS back bling, you must first redeem the other three rewards.
These include:
- FNCS 2023 Banner
- FNCS 2023 Spray
- FNCS 2023 Emoticon
- FNCS 2023 Back Bling
Once you've redeemed them all through Twitch, they should appear in Fortnite when you log into the game. If not, you may not have redeemed them properly and will need to go back into Twitch to see if there's an issue.
This is also why you must ensure the correct Fortnite account is linked. Otherwise, someone else may reap the benefits of your hard work.
