The Grapple Glider is the newest mobility tool to be introduced to Fortnite after the 22.40 update. Much like Jules' Glider Gun and Batman Grapnel Gun, it allows players to redeploy their glider mid-air and glide to however far the wind takes them.

Since this is a new item, Epic Games always tries to coax players to use it before it is vaulted. Players are being challenged to glide 250 meters with the Grapple Glider in one shot. Those who manage to complete the task will be rewarded with 20,000 XP.

A step-by-step guide on how to glide 250 meters with the Grapple Glider in one shot in Fortnite

1) Land in a relatively safe location and look for the Grapple Glider

The first step to completing this challenge is to land in a safe zone to loot and gather supplies. Given that it will take some time to set things up to complete the task at hand, not being shot at will be helpful.

That being said, the Grapple Glider can be found by searching through floor loot, chests, and Supply Llamas. Considering that the item was introduced to the game after the Fortnite update v22.40, its spawn rate should be relatively high, making it easy to find.

2) Depending on the mode, either build vertically or look for high ground

Depending on the mode players are in when undertaking this challenge, setting things up will have to be done differently. Here's how to set things up in either mode:

Zero Build mode

In the Fortnite Zero Build mode, players will have to look for tall structures and buildings. Getting as high off the ground as possible will be important. A few good locations that offer verticality are Tainted Towers, Chrome Crossroads, and Rave Cave.

Normal mode

In Fortnite's normal build mode, players will have to gather materials to build vertically to get as high as possible off the ground. A simple ramp with an extended floor build should suffice. Alternatively, they can also use the Zero Build mode to save on using materials.

3) Use the Grapple Glider to target the edge of the high ground point and boost into the air

Once a tall building/structure has been found or a ramp has been built, executing the next step will be the most crucial part of the challenge. Doing it wrong may lead to sustaining fall damage and perhaps even being eliminated.

That said, Fortnite players will want to aim for the edge or tip of a hard surface to aim and shoot the Grapple Glider at. Once the grapple's hook makes contact, they will be pulled towards it and up into the air.

4) While in the air, at the highest point of verticality, deploy the glider

Once players are launched into the air, they'll have to time things perfectly and deploy their gliders. The goal is to glide 250 meters in a single stretch without having to use the Grapple Glider for a second or third time.

Thus, gaining maximum verticality before deploying the glider is of the utmost importance. This will ensure that the challenge is completed on the very first attempt and players will not have to spend too much time trying to earn 20,000 experience points.
