The v22.40 update has gone live for Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4. Since it's the final scheduled update for this season, Epic Games have added plenty of content so things will end on a high note. One thing they added was the Octane vehicle, which is a car straight from their other popular game, Rocket League.
The Octane has instantly become the most high-powered vehicle in the game. It can drive on walls, fly, and go ridiculously fast. It is also the subject of a few challenges in the title.
There are free cosmetics available for players who complete these challenges, too. One such task is to hit opponents while driving the brand new vehicle, and here's how to do that.

How to hit opponents while riding in an Octane in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4
Step 1: Load into a Fortnite match
The first step towards completing these challenges is to load into a Fortnite match. This can be either Zero Build or Battle Royale as the Octane vehicle is active in both. It is not present in Competitive right now, though.
Many of the Octane Quests are set in Creative mode on different maps, but not this one. Instead, it needs to be completed in standard modes. Fortunately, it can be carried out in Solo, Duos, Trios or Squads.
Step 2: Find an Octane
The new Fortnite vehicle can spawn in various spots on the map. Right now, these are the locations where it can appear:
- Greasy Grove
- Chonker's Speedway
- Cloudy Condos
- Tainted Towers (formerly Tilted Towers)
- Shiny Sound
- Chromejam Junction
Additionally, there is one to the west of Greasy Grove, and others to the west and east of Herald's Sanctum.
Once you find one at these spots, you need to get it and drive away as many players will be trying to get this vehicle for themselves.
Step 3: Drive around and find opponents
The next step is one that may be time consuming. You have to find opponents, which can be easier said than done. Head to the nearest POI or landmark and check there as they usually have players present.
If not, move on to the next one. The Octane runs on gas, so you can continue driving around endlessly.
Step 4: Hit the opponents you find
Once you find an opponent, drive directly into them. If they die, you will need to find others, and if not, you can keep hitting them. You will need to do so three times for this particular challenge.
It is better to hit opponents in open areas where it's easy to turn around and try again. Also, keep in mind that they can move, so it might be beneficial to drive towards them at a lowered speed to reduce the chances of missing them.
