Fortnite: How to hit opponents while standing on snow or ice

With week 10 challenges for Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 being 'cold-hearted' and icy in nature, players will have to land in the snow/ice biome a lot. Given the white backdrop, navigating this frigid hellscape can be tedious and dangerous, to say the least. Nevertheless, with experience points on the line, it's worth the risk.

One of the challenges set forth by Epic Games is for players to hit opponents while standing on snow or ice. They have to 'hit' enemy players a total of 50 times. With weekly challenges not time-bound anymore, this task can easily be completed naturally over the duration of a few matches, perhaps even just one.

A step-by-step guide on how to hit opponents while standing on snow or ice in Fortnite

1) Land at Lonely Labs and find sufficient loot/gear

There are plenty of good locations to land in the snow/ice biome. Aggressive players can choose POIs such as Brutal Bastion or landmarks like Solitary Shrine, Aegis Temple, and The Hall of Whispers. However, when it comes to 'hitting' opponents while standing on snow or ice, Lonely Labs is the ideal location.

Despite it being a relatively small POI in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1, it offers substantial loot, and in most matches, a safe start (for the most part, that is). The goal is to land atop the structure at the southernmost or northernmost tip of the POI. Solo players will find enough loot inside them to gear up for the early game.

Landing at either of these points also ensures that players will not be flanked and/or surrounded by opponents as opposed to if they were to land in the middle of the POI. While the larger structures do contain a lot more loot, the competition for the said loot will be tougher.

Once enough weapons/items have been collected, the next step is to exit the structure and go outside. While the challenge does state 'snow or ice,' the latter is a major risk factor. Controlling the character can be a daunting task, especially when under fire. For this reason, sticking to snowy terrain is the best.

Try to set up a Cow Catcher to use for defense if firing from a fixed position. Keep in mind that enemies/opponents do not need to be on snowy/icy ground for 'hits' to register. Given the area has a lot of structures, using an AR or DMR is probably the best option when staying stationary.

For those who want to move around and 'hit' opponents, a SMG/Shotgun combo is the better option. Just remember to stay on snow/ice while 'hitting' opponents, or the 'hits' will not be taken into account. Claim the Capture Point if possible to highlight all opponents in the area. This will make finding them easier.

If all opponents in the area have been eliminated, use the Bounty Board that's present in Lonely Labs to find another one. With all that said, for those who manage to survive the landing phase and are able to clear out the POI, 25 to 40 'hits' should easily be registered. Repeat the process once more to complete the challenge.
