Fortnite players have to throw and detonate a gas can for the latest Most Wanted challenge. While there is no doubt that it is one of the easiest tasks to fulfill in the current season of the video game, you have to be careful when attempting it.
Gas cans are very dangerous as they can deal both explosive and ticking damage over time. Detonating them can also cause a rapid spread of fire, which can prove to be fatal if players are not cautious.
Keeping that in mind, we have prepared a step-by-step guide that explains the most effective method to throw and detonate a gas can for the new challenge in Fortnite Chapter 4.

Caution is key as you throw and detonate a gas can for the new Fortnite event
To complete the latest Fortnite Most Wanted challenge, you need to throw and detonate a gas can twice. The event will go on for two weeks, so you have some time in hand.
By completing the challenge, you will earn 750 Infamy, the new currency that you can use to unlock free cosmetic items during the event. This particular task will help you unlock the Solid Skull back bling. Here is how you can go about it.
1) Find two gas cans and pick them up
Gas cans can be found all over the island, especially in gas station locations. However, the Feudal Fuel landmark, located north-east of The Citadel, has more of them than any other spot on the map. With 28 gas can spawns, it is the perfect place to visit if you want to complete the challenge quickly.
2) Throw gas cans on the ground
Once you have a gas can in your inventory, hold the aim down sight button and press the fire button to throw it on the ground. You should aim as far away from yourself as possible to avoid getting damaged by it.
3) Shoot the gas can to detonate it and then repeat the task
After throwing the gas can on the ground, you simply need to shoot it with your weapon. Both melee and ranged weapons can do the job, but we advise you to use an assault rifle and maintain a safe distance between yourself and the can.
Repeat the process to complete the latest Fortnite challenge. Throw and detonate a gas can for the second time using the guidelines mentioned.
4) Open your quest log
Once you're done with the steps above, open your quest log and check that you've completed the quest. This Fortnite tab is sometimes bugged, so if you don't see a green checkmark next to the challenge, you will have to do it again.
We should remind you again that the quest will not be completed until you throw and detonate a gas can two times.
