According to the latest Fortnite leak, it seems that Epic Games is just getting started with Chapter 5 Season 4. As if having Doom as the antagonist and boss NPC was not enough, more of his henchmen will reportedly be added to the game. The information comes from the dataminer/leaker Wensoing, who has been pivotal in sharing upcoming content over the many seasons.

Coming back to the leak, the Doom Henchmen Takeover mechanic will function similarly to what was done in Chapter 3 Season 2, when the Imagined Order faced off against The Seven and The Resistance. However, it's unclear how things will work since it is in early development. Nevertheless, this is what we know about this upcoming mechanic.

Note: The information is based on a leak and should be taken with a pinch of salt.

Fortnite leak shares details about upcoming Doom Henchmen Takeover mechanic

From what we know thanks to Wensoing, there are a few things that we could expect to see once this mechanic goes live. It even shares a few similarities with the upcoming Iron Man locations codenamed "BarnTowel". That said, here's what we know:

  • Doom Henchmen Takeover mechanic will have nine locations at every digsite.
  • When activated, a wave of Doom Henchmen will spawn alongside.
  • An icon will appear when the objective is started.
  • There will be loot that these NPCs will defend.

In addition to the aforementioned information, this Doom Henchmen Takeover mechanic will seemingly be a mid-match objective. Wensoing also states that it could be connected to something codenamed "LodeSwan". It will be another upcoming mid-match objective, which will seemingly spawn the upcoming Doom mythic (or another upcoming mythic), perhaps a few from Chapter 2.

In conclusion, this new addition will change the mid-match pace, and give players more to do. However, it is left to be seen in what direction Epic Games takes this upcoming mechanic.
