The moment Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 launched, players scrambled to reach the maximum Seasonal Level, about 1,001. Of course, the Battle Pass is completed at 200, so anything beyond that point is rather moot. But that doesn't stop players from wanting to become the highest-level player of the season. There are no extra rewards, but they do get some bragging rights.
All this is fine and dandy in Epic Games' eyes, but it seems players that have reached Seasonal Level 1,000 have hit a massive roadblock. They are no longer able to progress in-game to earn Battle Pass rewards. Here is a rundown of the situation.

Reaching level 1,000 at the start of Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 was not the best idea
Brought to attention by @Many0354 on X, it would appear that players (including themselves) who have reached the level cap are in a soup. They are unable to complete the OG Battle Pass. This is because you cannot level up beyond 1,001.

Thus, those who have reached this threshold before getting the OG Batte Pass are now stuck. In days gone by, this was not an issue as there was only one Battle Pass. If you reached the maximum level in a season, you would automatically redeem all rewards.
However, with the advent of multiple passes across different modes (Festival, LEGO, and OG), things have become complex. For instance, Festival Season 6 ends mid-way through Chapter 6 Season 1. The same goes for Fortnite OG Chapter 1 Season 1. So, if you reached level 1,000 before the OG Battle Pass went live, there is no way to claim those rewards, as you cannot level up anymore.

Something similar happened back in Chapter 3 Season 4, which was related to the Chrompunk Outfit, but this is a lot more complicated. At the moment, it is unclear how these players will redeem rewards from the Fortnite OG Chapter 1 Season 1 Battle Pass. They could potentially purchase them, but that is not a solution.
Epic Games has yet to comment on the matter. Furthermore, since these are isolated incidents, affected players may need to contact the support team to resolve things. That said, this fiasco has made it clear why speed-leveling at the start of a new season may not be the best idea for the foreseeable future.
