Rift Warden Stellan is the latest skin to be introduced to Fortnite. This individual was crafted with the intent of being a centralized character in this season's medieval theme. However, much like Joni The Red, fans seem to be confused about Stellan's gender.

Given how Rift Warden was described by leakers, many assumed that it would be a female. Seeing the number of major female characters that took the center stage in past seasons, the logic followed a likely pattern. However, things soon took a U-turn as the community discovered that they had been bamboozled.

While the community was of the impression that Rift Warden Stellan was female based on how the design looked, it turns out that the character is male. This is due to the fact that the he has several voice lines in-game that confirm his gender.

Players will get to hear these voice lines when undertaking the new set of Oathbound challenges. Those interested in cosplaying as the Rift Warden can purchase the Rift's Warden Set for 1,500 V-Bucks from the Item Shop.

Coming back to the character's gender, despite the initial bamboozling, the community as a whole has come to love the character and the skin. Here's what a few have to say about it:

Now, keeping esthetics aside, Rift Warden Stellan will take center stage in Chapter 4 Season 1. Aside from being the head alchemist of the Oathbound, he's also been tasked by the Ageless Champion to create a stable Rift Gate.

As seen in-game over the years, these Rifts link realities to the metaverse. Due to these, characters from other realities have been able to come to Fortnite. While Rift Warden Stellan's task at hand is a noble one, there's something offsetting about the character design.

Rift Warden Stellan's armor has an eerie connection to Husk from Save The World

While the armor worn by the character in-game looks chivalrous, it hides a dark secret. Akin to the design of the Spire Assassin skin and the Husk Encampments in Fortnite Save The World, similarly shaped hands can be seen on his armor.

Although these hands are not 'purple' in color, they are similar in shape and design. Given how Rift Warden Stellan was unwilling to share information about his purpose behind creating Rift Gates, something is a miss.

While it cannot be said with absolute conviction that he is connected to The Storm and Husks, they seem to share a common link. What that is for the time being is unclear and open to speculation. On that note, there's something else of interest as well.

"All that glitters is not gold"

Alongside the eerie looking hands on the armor, there is a singular golden hand jutting out next to the character's neck. Again, while it cannot be said with absolute conviction, this is potentially Midas' calling card, and not the one from Fortnite Chapter 2.

If anything, this is the mark of Midas Rex. Given that the character has medieval-themed armor, it may be possible that the Rift Warden and Midas are somehow connected.

While there's no lore to back this claim up, the golden hand is a good indication of this truth. With that said, considering that Midas' return is long overdue, players may see him return to the island sometime in Fortnite Chapter 4.
