The drama regarding the Goku skin in Fortnite continues as players still believe that developers could have done a better job than the stunning new Gohan and Piccolo skins. Since the new Dragon Ball Z collaboration arrived with the update v23.30, players have constantly complained about the terrible work on the original outfits that arrived last year.

However, a valid reason for the same might be the upgrade in Unreal Engine that players received with the launch of Chapter 4 that allowed Epic to create outfits with enhanced graphics and far more complex animations than they did earlier. Similarly, this was the case when cel-shaded skins were released in the game for the first time.

Over time, Epic has pushed the envelope in introducing newer concepts of outfits in the game, whether the classic toon skins in black and white or the cel-shaded outfits of animated characters. However, the player base hasn't often received their initiative well.

While there are numerous cel-shaded skins in the game, the most recent, Gohan and Piccolo, stand out from the rest as they consist of more advanced facial animations than the original characters like Goku from the famous anime.

Fortnite players find Goku's skin disappointing, which proves a valid point

Fortnite players have started an online movement to voice their opinions on the Goku skin after they received Gohan and Piccolo with the latest Dragon Ball collaboration in v23.30.

As stated by the movement, the Gohan and Piccolo skins include facial animations much closer to the famous anime franchise. In contrast, on the other hand, they despise the fact that Epic held back from doing the same with the Goku and Vegeta skins that were added to the game in Chapter 3.

Moreover, by the looks of the current Goku skin, it looks too childish as compared to the Gohan skin. Players believe that the son may be mightier than the father in terms of looking like a Super Saiyan, as Gohan's outfit looks more intense and stronger than its predecessor.

Voicing similar concerns, players have started creating concepts online for a remodel of the Goku skin similar to Gohan's animation and demanding that Epic fix it. Upon looking at it, players who were unaware of the debate joined the movement and are now sending out posts, tweets, and messages to the developers to fulfill the fans' wishes.

A few fan replies also suggest that an entirely different team worked on the previous vs the latest DBZ skins. If that is the case, then the devs are trying their hand at different styles of animation and design with anime-based skins.

Looking at the DBZ fans demanding a remodel, Naruto fans joined in the conversation, stating that, looking at the new Fortnite skins, they would like a remodel on their favorite characters as well.

Some also suggested they would like to see the adult version of their characters, like Sasuke, in the latest, remodel, where Epic would fix the Fortnite skins using the latest Unreal Engine 5.1.

As the drama continues between anime fans and the developers, a brand new update for Fortnite drops later today, bringing in quests to unlock The Geralt of Rivia in Chapter 4 Season 1. So buckle up and toss The Witcher a coin when you see him roaming the island.
