Fortnite update v23.20 has been a long time coming. It is the second major update in Chapter 4 Season 1. Although there are quite a few leaks to discuss, there are no major map changes.
Having said that, players will soon be able to scout out the enemy, make a bush appear out of thin air, and cosplay as none other than Issac Clarke. Without further ado, here are the major content changes/updates coming to Fortnite v23.20.
Fortnite update v23.20 patch notes: New content, changes, and leaks
1) Dead Space collaboration
Master the game with our Fortnite Interactive Map v33.00 here!
The rumored collaboration with Dead Space has been confirmed. It will feature a cosmetic bundle that will include one outfit, two back accessories, a pickaxe, and one built-in emote.
Unfortunately, this is a real-money bundle. Players will not be able to purchase it using V-Bucks. Nevertheless, there is a silver lining. After obtaining the bundle, players will be able to earn up to 1,500 V-Bucks by completing quests. So, it's kind of a win-win situation.
2) Renegade Shadow (NPC)
With Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 constantly evolving, new NPCs are bound to make an appearance on the island.
Renegade Shadow, who was first introduced as a skin in Chapter 2 Season 2, will now feature as an NPC in-game.
3) Lucien and Rift Warden Stellan (Skins)
Two new skins have been added to the file, and the community is absolutely ecstatic.
The first is called Lucien West and is likely related to the vampire hunters that are present this season. The other, in all probability, is an antagonist for the season and is called Rift Warden Stellan. Both should become available in the Item Shop soon.
4) Rift Encounters (New)
With reality fractured in Chapter 4 Season 1, Rift Encounters have become common. They can appear at any time and anywhere on the island.
As of Fortnite update v23.20, three new Rift Encounters are being added to the game. They will feature Bunker Jonesy, Jonesy The First, and Peely, respectively.
5) New Reality Augments
Five new Reality Augments have been added to the game. They are mostly a mix-and-match of combat and utility. They should go live once the downtime ends. Here's the list of the new Augments:
- Danger Hero
- Peely's Plunder
- Shotgun Striker
- Rarity Check
- Zero Chance
6) Hurdling/Vaulting in Save The World
Despite there being problems with Hurdling in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1, the developers have begun working to implement the mechanics in the Save The World mode. Given that players cover a lot of open ground, this mechanic will help greatly.
7) Return of Deku's Smash
Since Deku's Smash Mythic was removed much before the collaboration with My Hero Academia could come to an end, a lot of players never got to test it out in-game.
According to leakers, Epic Games may be planning to re-enable the item into the game sometime in the near future.
8) Falcon Scout and Big Bush Bomb
Two new items were added to Fortnite during the update v23.20. The first is called Falcon Scout and can be used to mark items, targets, and places on the map. This will have a cooldown feature built into it. Additionally, it will also be able to pick up Reboot Cards and Knocked Teammates.
The second item is called the Big Bush Bomb. As the name suggests, when used, a large bush will appear where the item was thrown. Players will be able to hide in the bush to heal using the Bush Warrior Augment or launch an ambush against unsuspecting opponents.
9) Return of Fortnite x Stranger Things
According to the leakers, the cosmetic (wrap) which belongs to the Stranger Things bundle in-game was updated during the Fortnite update 23.20. While this is not something out of the ordinary, this could signify that the cosmetics may be unvaulted soon.
10) The Kid Laroi
The Kid Laroi is confirmed to receive an Icon Series skin in Fortnite sometime later this month. There will also be an emote which will feature the song "Stay." In addition to cosmetics, an in-game concert will also take place later this month.
