Getting Ramp Rushed in Fortnite is one of the biggest fears of every looper on the island unless they are sweaty at building. A huge ramp being rapidly built by a sweat, only to see that they one shot the player is the worst feeling an amateur can have.
Over the past few months, there has been a significant decline in player activity in the regular Battle Royale game mode as the popularity of the Zero Build mode is on the rise; however, as players slowly return to build modes to grind their competitive rank in Arena, they might forget the basics after not cranking those 90s for a while.
In these instances, getting ramp rushed or boxed up by an opponent are some of the few horrors players might face and can remind them of the days when they also had a few tricks up their sleeve.

But for those new to the game, countering a ramp rush isn't that hard as long as players are fully aware of their surroundings and have good control over their keybinds.
Counter your opponent's ramps in Fortnite easily by cranking 90s
Countering ramps is fairly simple in Fortnite, and thanks to several content creators, players in Chapter 1 have discovered various perks of using building as a method to survive longer across Battle Royale matches; however, players must become familiar with the game's mechanics and set pieces with their customized keybinds.
Players in Fortnite use Ramp Rush to get to their opponents faster while taking the high ground to eliminate them from a distance; however, sweats, build incredibly fast compared to others, and you might feel like you’re getting ramped up at some point. If that becomes the case, follow these simple steps to outplay your opponents:
1) Jump to the side and build a wall
As soon as you start to get ramped over by an opponent, a quick and viable move is to jump to the side and build a wall so you can counter their strategy. A wall will form the foundation for your corresponding building pieces that will help you get to higher ground faster.
2) Build a floor adjacent to the wall
In Fortnite, you won't always be fighting on smooth terrain that lets you build all kinds of structures to your advantage. In this case, floor pieces are extremely useful to build over a ramp, a pyramid, or even place a trap. Building a floor will allow you to create a ramp and get you closer to the high ground.
3) Build a Ramp over the floor
Now that you have a floor to build other pieces on, place a ramp to start getting to a higher ground than your opponent.
However, it is wise to build two consecutive ramps instead of one to get extra height over the ramp your opponent has already placed.
4) Start cranking those 90s
90s is a building style in Fortnite that allows players to get to higher ground faster and prevents counter builds by their opponents in a sweaty fight. All players need to do is stand on a ramp and build three walls: one in front, another to the side and the last just below it.
This method prevents opponents from counter-building around your ramp just like you did and gets you to a higher ground.
5) Repeat the process and claim the High Ground
To claim a higher ground and win a build fight over your opponent, repeat the process of cranking 90s by building up a ramp along the adjacent walls.
This will help you claim the high ground from which you can easily shoot your opponents and form a fortified base in Fortnite.
