The Deku Smash in Fortnite is arguably the worst Mythic to exist in-game. While this statement may seem far-fetched, it's based on the general consensus of the community. The Mythic is undoubtedly fun to use, but it's far from balanced or fair. In fact, many have been unable to find an effective counter to it during a match.
Epic Games also disabled the item on December 21, 2022. Even after 24 hours, there's no update about the weapon's status. Given the problems surrounding it, it's probably for the best. With all this in mind, here are three reasons why the community has dubbed Deku Smash one of the worst Mythics to exist.

Low visualization and 2 other reasons why Deku Smash is arguably one of the worst Mythics to exist in Fortnite
1) No effective counter or means of escape
There's only one way to counter Deku Smash Mythic in Fortnite. Players have to stand their ground and shoot their opponent into oblivion. However, given the possibility that the opponent will not be knocked out in time, most players tend to avoid using their weapons to eliminate the target.
Others try to use Shockwave Hammers and Augments to rotate in a jiffy. However, it does not work out in most cases, as Deku Smash can be retargeted before it charges up fully and fires. Since it deals AOE damage, there's no escaping it using low levels of mobility.
Only a lucky few are able to dodge the incoming attack by either using a vehicle or hiding behind naturally occurring terrain. However, if the terrain is flat and there's no cover to be found, the odds of escaping alive are slim to none. This is made worse if the Deku Smash Mythic is used inside buildings.
2) Low visualization
Unlike the Kamehameha Mythic attack, which could be seen coming from a mile away, Deku Smash Mythic is all but notable in the thick of battle. Most players are unaware that an opponent is charging up the weapon. With the shots of gunfire mixed in, hearing it may not be possible.
According to hearing-impaired players who use the visualization option to play Fortnite, the Deku Smash Mythic does not provide a prompt when being used. Essentially, if an opponent were to sneak up behind the player and use it, there would be no sound prompt to alert them.
Given how fast and far the ball of energy can travel, they will not be able to react in time to dodge it. This makes it extremely broken in certain situations and almost impossible to counter except by the most skilled Fortnite players.
3) AOE damage is devastating
Unlike the Dragon Ball Kamehameha Mythic in Fortnite, Deku Smash deals AOE damage. What makes it worse is that trying to escape the blast at close range will not be possible, given how fast the projectile travels.
This is vastly different from the Kamehameha Mythic, which functioned like a beam and had telltale signs. Players could see the beam and move out of the way to avoid damage. While not all of them were successful, they did stand a chance of escaping.
While it can be argued that using the Aerialist Augment will allow players to redeploy to dodge the attack completely, this is only applicable when on high ground. When fighting on flat terrain, players may not be able to use the Augment to escape the blast radius.
