Fortnite Winterfest 2022 for Chapter 4 Season 1 should start this week and continue into the first week of 2023. Based on speculation, the update v23.10 will kick off the celebrations in-game. According to leakers, it will likely take place on December 13, 2022.
While there's no official checklist for the content that will be introduced on the occasion, some information is available, thanks to leaks. Players can expect Sgt. Winters to be back in action alongside a powerful new mythic item. Here's everything we know so far about Winterfest 2022.
Fortnite Winterfest 2022 is nearly here, and with it comes fresh new content
1) Sgt. Winter’s Holiday Big Rig to return
Master the game with our Fortnite Interactive Map v33.00 here!
Christmas in Fortnite wouldn't be the same without Sgt. Winters. Although he's not jolly (and based on leaked audio files, he's not right in the head either), he is an essential part of the holiday experience.
In Fortnite Winterfest 2022, players can expect to see him back on the island, being chauffeured by two Red-Nosed Rangers. When approached, he will throw a present from the truck and be on his merry way. However, if players attack him, the vehicle, or his comrades, hostilities will ensue.
2) My Hero Academia collaboration
The My Hero Academia collaboration will commence as planned on December 16, 2022 and will be part of Fortnite Winterfest 2022. However, this does not mean that the cosmetics will be free to obtain. The Deku and All Might skins/bundles/sets will cost V-Bucks.
On that note, the only thing that will be free in-game will be the upcoming Deku's Detroit Smash Mythic. Players will be able to use it during combat to destroy structures and force opponents to flee from cover. It may also cause direct damage to opponents.
Players can expect to find this new Mythic item in-game throughout the month of December and perhaps even the first week of January. It will likely only be vaulted after the update v23.20 is pushed.
3) Free cosmetics
Like last year, players can expect to be gifted numerous free cosmetics during Fortnite Winterfest 2022. This will include skins and other items, such as gliders, back blings, wraps, and music.
It's being speculated that the upcoming Mr. Beast collaboration, which includes an Icon Series skin featuring Jimmy Donaldson, will be given out for free on the occasion. Considering how the eccentric YouTuber is known for giving away large sums of money, a few million skins in-game shouldn't matter much.
However, given that Mr. Beast doesn't suit the wintry or Christmas theme, it's anyone's guess if his skin is going to be a freebie or not. On that note, the first new skin for Fortnite Winterfest 2022 (Winter Wonder Skye) has already gone live in the item shop.
4) Crackshot's Cabin
No island in any reality of The Metaverse would be complete without the appearance of Crackshot's Cabin during the festive season. Much like last year, Crackshot's Cabin will make a return to the island in Fortnite Winterfest 2022 and will likely be located south of Anvil Square or west of Brutal Bastion.
This landmark will be decked out with Christmas cheer and become a hot-drop location for the rest of the year. In Save The World mode, players will be able to unlock the Hero by completing the Holly Jolly Ransom questline. Hopefully, he makes an appearance on the island as well.
5) Fortnite Winterfest 2022 challenges
Fortnite Winterfest 2022 is bound to be full of challenges. Given that most users who play the game will be on holiday, this is the best opportunity to grind and rank up the seasonal level.
Having said that, players shouldn't expect to earn a crazy amount of levels by completing all the challenges. At most, perhaps gaining five to 15 levels will be achievable. In addition to XP, players will also earn cosmetic rewards similar to last year. More information about the same should become available in the next few days.
