Fortnite x Family Guy collaboration officially ends as Peter Griffin removed from map — Any trace of Peter Griffin on the Fortnite Battle Royale island is now gone. (Image via Epic Games)

The Fortnite x Family Guy collaboration was one of the most exciting aspects of Chapter 5 Season 1 when it was first announced, bringing a highly anticipated and unique collaboration to fruition with Peter Griffin being a part of the Chapter 5 Season 1 Battle Pass. Additionally, Peter Griffin was also assigned the honorary position of a storyline character, as the beloved Irishman from Family Guy was showcased as a member of The Society.

This entailed Peter Griffin occupying his own POI at Snooty Steppes, with his own bodyguards and even a statue erected at the POI. While Peter Griffin and The Society were seemingly written out of the storyline in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2, the statue persisted, keeping the memory of Peter Griffin alive in the Greek Mythology saga.

With the release of Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3, the Fortnite x Family Guy collaboration has officially come to an end as the Peter Griffin statue at the Snooty Steppes POI, now known as Sandy Steppes, has been removed with the wasteland taking over.

This comes on the toes of The Society being defeated by Zeus when he brought Mount Olympus to the Island and taking over major points of control from the organization.

Zeus' crusade against The Society and all mortals as a whole could also mean that Peter Griffin, along with the rest of The Society, is canonically dead in the Fortnite universe. While Oscar, the powerful enforcer for The Society in Chapter 5 Season 1, has made a return to the Island, it does not seem like characters like Valeria and Montague were able to survive the war against Zeus.

Can players expect more Fortnite x Family Guy collaboration content in the future?

The Peter Griffin statue staying a part of the game in Chapter 5 Season 2 could have been seen as a sign of more things to come for the Fortnite x Family Guy collaboration, but now its removal does complicate things a bit.

While the collaboration was certainly eventful, it was quite limited in comparison to other crossovers, with the only other skin to come out of the Fortnite x Family Guy collaboration being The Giant Chicken.

Other well-known characters from the show like Lois Griffin, Stewie, Joe Swanson, and many more are nowhere to be seen and have not been hinted at being added, leaving players yearning for this beloved cast of characters to the game. However, Epic Games is known for expanding on their collaborations, so it is likely that the developers expand on the Fortnite x Family Guy collaboration in the future.

Additionally, it is important to remember the knee hurt animation that Peter Griffin would do upon being defeated, being a reference to a classic joke from Family Guy, could be added as an emote to the Fortnite Item Shop moving forward. But then again, this is largely based on speculation, and for all we know, the Fortnite x Family Guy collaboration may be over for good.
