Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 is yet to start, but Epic Games can't seem to stop giving. After raising the bar with "Most Wanted" this season, it seems that the developers will be taking the game to new heights in the next one.
If having Eren Yeager as a bonus skin in the Battle Pass is not enough, well, according to leakers, Leon Kennedy & Claire Redfield from Resident Evil will now be joining the metaverse. They will be available in the Item Shop sometime this month.
When will the Fortnite x Resident Evil collaboration go live in Chapter 4 Season 2?
Master the game with our Fortnite Interactive Map v33.00 here!
Although leakers have not been able to verify the release date, it will likely happen sometime before March 24, 2023. Considering that the Resident Evil 4 Remake is scheduled for release then, Epic Games will want to have it in the Item Shop a few days prior.
That said, there's no indication as to how much the Outfits/Skins will cost. Seeing as how Leon Kennedy & Claire Redfield will fall into the Gaming Legend Series, the cost should be similar to that of the S.T.A.R.S. Team Bundle.
It can be said with certainty that this new bundle will cost an upward of 2,000 V-Bucks for certain. In all probability, the older Outfits (Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine) from the first collaboration will be added to the Item Shop as well to celebrate the collaboration.
In addition to the Outfits (and perhaps styles), other cosmetic items such as Back Blings, Harvesting Tools, and Gliders should be part of the upcoming Resident Evil collaboration. With cosmetics taking center stage, the developers will want to focus on showcasing them in-game.
Will there be special challenges and/or quests associated with the Fortnite x Resident Evil collaboration?
Most likely not. Given that this is just another Item Shop collaboration with a franchise that has been featured in-game before, there won't be much pomp and show for the most part.
While Resident Evil is no doubt popular in the world of video games, anime has always been the focus of large-scale collaborations in Fortnite. This doesn't mean that other franchises have not been promoted in a similar manner, but taking the upcoming Attack on Titan collaboration into consideration, this one will be limited to the Item Shop.
Perhaps a fan-made Creative map or two will pay homage to the collaboration, but other than that, players shouldn't expect to see much other than cosmetics. On that note, here's what fans have to say about the upcoming Fortnite x Resident Evil collaboration:
Seeing the overwhelming positive feedback, it's safe to say that Epic Games has just scored a major "W" with the community. Being able to cosplay as characters from Resident Evil and other gaming franchises is something the community loves and looks forward to.
On that note, files for the upcoming Resident Evil Outfits should be leaked either during the launch of Chapter 4 Season 2 or during the Fortnite update v24.10 later in March 2023. Hopefully, other Gaming Legend Series Outfits such as Kratos and Aloy will be added back to the Item Shop soon as well.
